Decorative Painting Techniques | Sponge Painting and Hairstyle
Tired of blank walls, boring? The false finishes are a great way to liven up your space with low cost and little effort. Here are some of the techniques we teach more widespread.
Sponge Painting
Of all faux finish techniques, painting with a sponge is the easiest. Even a child can do it (even if it does not result in such a hurry). To carry it out, paint the entire area first with a base color. After this first layer dries, take a sponge or a plastic bag, dip in paint and apply at random on the walls. Although this is a random process, you must be careful not to leave too obscure or overlooked any part of the wall, or your view will be drawn immediately to that point.
Hairstyle
The “hair” is a bit more difficult. To run it you must use a rubber comb to pass over the top layer of paint. As in the sponge-painted, you must first pass a layer of primer, and another color on it to play, so when you move the comb, it will be a drawing on the top layer that will see the background tone. The technique of hair is also very economical, and lets you draw waves, zigzags and other patterns on the wall.
